How to extract oil from palm fruit?

Palm fruit oil mainly comes from its peel, the oil content of the peel of palm fruit is as high as 45% to 50%. In order to extract palm oil from palm fruit, palm oil mill plant generally needs to go through several processes of sterilization, threshing, digesting and pressing, oil clarification, and drying. The process of extracting palm oil from the palm fruit is as follows.

1)Sterilization

In the sterilization station, we inject 0.3 MPa steam into sterilizer to process for 60 to 90 minutes to destroy the lipase activity and soften the fruit bunch to prepare for threshing below.

2)Threshing

The threshing section usually uses a thresher to centrifuge the palm fruit and the empty fruit bunch.Then the threshed palm fruits are transported to the digesting and pressing station.

3)Digesting and pressing

The digester can mash the palm fruit into fruit pulp, which is more conducive to squeezing out the palm oil. Then transport the fruit pulp to double screw palm oil press for squeezing, so that we can get the crude palm oil and the mixture of palm nuts and fiber.

4)Oil clarification

The crude oil clarification tank purify crude oil by sedimentation, filtration and separation. The machines used in this section are vibrating screen, crude oil clarification tank and filter. After processing in this section, the crude oil is basically free of solid impurities.

5)Drying

The clarified and filtered crude oil contains a large amount of water, which can easily make the crude oil rancid and deteriorate, which is not conducive to long-term storage. Therefore, it is necessary to pass into a vacuum drying system to stir and evaporate to separate the water to obtain high-quality crude palm oil.
