Why is it better to use physical refining process to refine palm oil?

As crude palm oil is with low gums and high free fatty acid content, for refining CPO, the physical refining process is more suitable. Why say this? Because there are some advantages of physical refining process, which is better than chemical refining technology.

1.Lower oil loss rate in physical refining process:

Normally the oil loss rate in palm oil physical refining process is 1.05-1.1%, but in palm oil chemical refining process, the oil loss rate can reach about 1.4%.

2.No chemicals in deacidification process

Palm oil physical refining process using high pressure steam to take free fatty acid away, so there is no chemicals to neutralize the FFA.

3.Less waste water produced in the whole refining process

In chemical refining process, the deacidification oil should be washed several times, which will produce large quantity of sludge water. But in palm oil physical refining process, it needn't washing the oil.

4.Low production cost in the whole process

Palm oil physical refining process needn't NaOH, and the palm oil physical refinery plant are full continuous type, which will save labors, because most works are done by machine automatically.

5.Higher quality RBD palm oil will be got:

The effect of deacidification in palm oil physical refining process is better than that in palm oil chemical refining process. The acid value of final RBD palm oil will be lower.
